Karinya House, Canberra

Karinya House offers a caring and supportive environment for women who are pregnant and without appropriate accommodation and support.

Karinya House Home for Mothers and Babies Incorporated is a community-based, non-denominational organisation.

The house is the vision of a group of people seeking to fill a need unmet for so long in Canberra.

Women will be able to stay at Karinya House before the birth of their baby, and return afterwards for up to three months.

Karinya House also offers information, advice and referral on:   pregnancy, childbirth, health, parenting, housing and life skills.

Karinya House needs volunteers who will assist the housemother and the coordinator, and also help with mothercraft, counselling, educational programs, leisure activities, transport, gardening, home maintenance and fundraising.

Donations to support the work of Karinya House will be gratefully accepted.

Donations are tax deductable.
