St Vincent de Paul Society urgently requires volunteers to work in our Retail Centres in the Canberra region: Belconnen, Dickson, Mitchell, Narrabundah, Phillip, Tuggeranong and Queanbeyan. The St Vincent de Paul Society is a volunteer-based Catholic charitable Organisation, dedicated to providing services for the poor and disadvantaged. People who are assisted by conference members are often provided with furniture, clothing and household goods free of charge. Centres also provide affordable clothing & goods to the wider community. Profit from the sale of donated stock in the Centres, is used to provide resources and support to people in need, and also helps to develop other good works for the underprivileged in our community. Are you looking for a Career change; retired; don't know what to do with yourself; kids have left home; children at school; would like to get out and meet new and interesting people and form new friendships. Well Vinnies has a place for you in one of our Centres. Requirements of a Vinnies Volunteer: Commitment to the Christian Philosophy of St Vincent de Paul Society; Able to spare a few hours a day/week/fortnight/month; Enjoy being part of a committed team Previous experience in retail would be great although not essential; Computer Skills and or administration skills - optional Come and join our family of volunteers at Vinnies, where you choose your own hours, day/s of the week, and take holidays when you choose.
